The Proposal
Justin had a work conference to attend in San Diego, September of 2006 and asked me come along. We’d been planning the trip for months and months and were both really excited to be staying at the famous Hotel del Coronado.
I’ll admit I was hoping this would be the perfect opportunity for Justin to propose and was nervous as to whether or not it would happened. So while he was setting up for his conference I peaked ever so slightly into his suitcase for any sign of a box, I just had to know. But I found nothing….Justin always thinking, was a few steps ahead and had actually taken the ring with him to set up the booth.
After he finished up his conference duties for the night we got dressed up and went to a nice dinner at one of the hotel’s restaurants. Afterwards we went back up to our room and enjoyed some wine on our balcony over looking the ocean.
Justin had planned on asking me while watching the sunset over the ocean. Unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate and he had to settle on gray clouds, but it was still very romantic. I was so excited as he was proposing, but I couldn’t stop thinking about how he didn’t have a ring. When he finally asked me to marry him I quickly replied “but you don’t have the ring yet?” just as he started to pull it out of his pocket. And then a few seconds later I answered yes.
