About Us
About Keely: Raised as a proud Air Force Brat, I’ve lived all over the country. By the time I was a junior in high school, I was at my seventh school and had just moved for the sixth time to Glenwood, IA. A bit of a culture shock coming from the suburbs of Washington, DC but I managed to adjust quickly to small town life in the Midwest.
After high school I decided to attend Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO. Not only did both my parents (and several other relatives) attend school here but I also happened to be born in Maryville. So it just seemed like the right fit for me. I graduated in the spring of 2004 with a B.A. in Public Relations and accepted a graduate teaching assistantship with the University of Nebraska at Omaha. So I moved up to Omaha to get my Master’s in Communication.
After a year of teaching I decided it wasn’t quite for me and got a job with a non-profit organization, Midwest Housing Equity Group, Inc. while finishing classes. After several months of working at MHEG, the main marketing person decided to leave and I was able to move up in the company and took over as their Public Relations Specialist. My responsibilities include various marketing and public relations projects, I’m also responsible for ongoing web site development and maintenance as well as various Human Resources duties. It’s been such a great opportunity for me.
About Justin: I grew up in Omaha, NE, where I graduated from Ralston High School. After that I went to Northwest Missouri State and after changing my major a couple of times I chose a degree in advertising, as it looked to be a promising industry with plenty of job openings.
After graduation, however, there were very few marketing / advertising positions available. So I continued to work for QuikTrip, a national Convienent store chain, that I had worked for during high school and on college breaks. I was promoted to assistant manager and finally resigned in November of 2004. A lot of friends never thought that day would come!
I started a new career in sales at Adams, Inc., an executive search firm that specializes in placement of banking professionals nationwide. The sales training was phenominal. It was definitely a tough job trying to find the right person to fill each position, but it can be done and the pay off was great for me.
As of January I resigned from Adams, Inc. and began to work as a sales rep. for Ikon Office Solutions. After a tough few months I wasn’t sure if the job was clicking with me. At the beginning of July I started working for Farmers Mutual of Nebraska, a Nebraska based insurance agency, as a claims adjuster.
