7th Month Itch

Friday, October 26th, 2007

I can’t believe November is almost here, only 7 months to go! We checked off a few more items on our to-do list: booking the honeymoon, engagement pictures, and then some smaller tasks and we’ve been keeping busy! We were able to attend a few more weddings this past month and I finished my half-marathon at the end of September.

One thing I was finally able to do was find a bridesmaid dress that fit the color and style I wanted but was also something the girls could wear again. I really wanted to make sure that they weren’t spending money on a dress that would just hang in the back of the closet. Thankfully JCrew had a great selection in the chocolate brown color I was looking for!

Below is a picture from Andy Barker and Andi Dahl’s wedding. Both went to Ralston High School with Justin, and Andy also went to Northwest with us.

Engagement Pictures

Friday, October 26th, 2007

We had our engagement pictures taken recently by our wedding photographer, Douglas Gunder, so it was a good introduction of what is to come! We had decided awhile ago that we wanted to do them outside in the fall weather, hoping for some bright colored trees. So we booked an October date and picked Elmwood Park for our location.

Unfortunately, Nebraska had the wettest October in the state’s history, so the leaves were still pretty green. And the few days prior to our session right up until our session time it was raining! We were a little nervous that we might have to reschedule, but we pushed back the time and the sun did eventually come out. Everything was pretty wet and the humidity did not work well with my hair. But even so, the pictures turned out great and we were very happy with our photographer!

Honeymoon!

Friday, October 26th, 2007

The most exciting thing we did this month was book our honeymoon! I told Justin from the beginning that he could pick the location for the most part, as long as it was somewhere tropical. I have traveled to almost every state in the U.S., but I have never actually left the country so I was happy with any destination that involved water and no more than a day’s travel. Justin did a lot of research on the Caribbean islands and we decided to go to a Sandals resort in St. Lucia. We’ve heard a lot of great things about the all-inclusive resorts and thought this would be the best way to just relax and enjoy ourselves. We’re really looking forward to this trip and I’m ready to get my passport!
